Q - How much funding am I entitled to?

A - The exact amount of funding available will depend on a wide variety of things such as how many items you are looking to replace and how much more energy efficient this is likely to make your home. To find out an exact amount we would need to send along a specialist who can assess your property and needs fully and provide full details of the funding available to you. 

Q - What products am I entitled to funding towards?

A - Funding is available towards a large range of energy saving products including Replacement Double or Triple Glazing, Replacement Doors, Replacement Fascias, Soffits, Guttering and Cladding, Upgrades to the Roof and Frames of a conservatory and Replacement insulated garage doors. To take advantage of funding towards these products one of our local partners would need to carry out an assessment of the property and products.

Q - I am not on any benefits, Am I still entitled?

A - YES! The greener home fund scheme is set up for homeowners to access funding savings. To qualify you must be Employed or retired, in receipt of a regular income, own your own home, be replacing a product with one that is increasing the energy efficiency of your home and not be subject to bankruptcy or in an IVA. You must own and live in the property as your main home and the items being replaced must be of an age to be considered inefficient. (More details available upon request)

Q - I am a Landlord, Can I access the Greener Home Fund?

A - Maybe, To assess the funding available one of our local partners would need to assess the property, a requirement of this is that we must see the homeowner(s) of the property to discuss the products and potential funding options and be allowed access to all locations where products are located (for example bedroom windows). To ensure that our local partners are providing you with the correct information and advice they would need to be able to explain the scheme with you in person which can be tricky if there are tenants in the property. Our local partners will be able to discuss your circumstances in more detail directly. 

Q - I don't own my home, Am I still entitled?

A - Maybe, You would need to contact your housing provider to access the fund as if you do not own the property you are not responsible for its energy performance. Please contact your local authority if you are unsure who your housing provider is and they can see if the scheme is available to you. If you are looking for fund the project yourself with assistance from the Greener Home Fund you would need a letter of permission to undertake changes to the property. 

Q - Does this mean I will get my windows replaced for free?

A - The exact amount of funding available will depend on a wide variety of things however in most circumstances the works would require a financial contribution from the homeowner to be made towards the project, We understand that many homeowners are contacting the Greener Home Fund for assistance towards the cost of energy efficient home improvements and our providers will obtain the very best allocation of funding for your property and needs. To find out how much funding you qualify for we would need to send one of our recognised partner specialists along to assess your property and energy saving needs. 

Q - Do I need to take out finance?

A - NO! Although many of our partners are able to offer financial products to help homeowners realise their improvements sooner rather than later and gain the benefit of being more energy efficient as soon as possible, Taking out a finance agreement is not a requirement of accessing the greener home fund to assist with the cost. Over 70% of homeowners choose to fund projects using their own funds after receiving the maximum funding allocation allowance under the Greener Home Fund Scheme. We are not a broker, lender or expert in financial products and we would encourage you to consider all options and take appropriate advice in all circumstances.

Q - Is this a sales tactic?

A - NO! We work alongside many local suppliers to offer funding using the greener home fund, Your local scheme provider will need to visit the property to carry out an assessment to obtain information to allow them to advise you fully and provide you with various options on your project however they are not there to force you into a purchase, over 90% of applicants chose to use the greener home fund for their projects however the decision to do so is yours to make. 

Q - Who is my local provider?

A - Local provider details will be provided upon submission of your enquiry, we carry out rigorous checks on all of our providers and update our partner register regularly. We work with many suppliers and all suppliers must have be a limited company, provide insurance backed warranties, have up to date accounting records, full compliance and complaints policies and be of good standing. All suppliers must also be a registered member of FENSA, CERTASS or other associated body. We receive no financial incentive to include a partner in the scheme.

Q - Where does the funding come from?

A - Funding is provided by local providers entrusted to improve the energy efficiency of the nations homes, these providers work alongside many recognised financial institutions, full details of your local scheme provider can be provided upon request. We may be able to offer assistance from more than one provider.
